Isaac's cool blogI think I’ve finally fixed a bug that’s been haunting album categories for a long time. This version should fix the dropdown category lists, which I believe also fixes the thing where categories were getting labelled Default upon update. I also made the popup menu a little prettier.

This version is only for WP 2.6-ish – I’m working on getting my plugins working well with WP 2.7 over the next couple of days. The upgrade to WP 2.7 is going to be rough on my users, but hopefully they’ll like it once they adapt.
In the meantime, Steven Alm found an issue with album display – if you aren’t using permalinks it’s much easier to use the page ID than the page slug, but Photopress wasn’t looking for page IDs. This version fixes the problem with a spot in the options to specify a page ID for the album page. I also noticed the album style stuff wasn’t getting inserted properly. Finally, this version fixes a huge performance issue when using Photopress with other plugins that use preg_replace.

These versions of Photopress and Filez should be compatible with WordPress 2.6+. The repository will show you the changes I’ve made since the previous versions if you’re interested. (removed it…) These versions are NOT compatible with earlier versions of WordPress due to the version change in TinyMCE. This version of Photopress uses a different, hopefully more future-proof, method of adding the album page – see the readme or the Photopress page for details.

I’ve been using Flickr a lot so I looked for a Flickr plugin that would work something like Photopress. I didn’t find one that supported multiple users, so I wrote one. It only inserts little thumbnails right now, but I expect I’ll add a way to select other sizes at some point.

Sorry for the lack of updates… I’ve been using this version with WP 2.3.2 and it seems to work well. I have no idea whether it works with older versions or not. It’s mostly a few bug fixes and one major change.
The major change is with the way the album template works. Based on a post at scott.sherrillmix.com, Photopress now uses one of your theme’s template files for the album. By default it uses page.php, but you can specify any template file in th options. I suggest copying page.php to photos.php or something like that and removing the “edit this page” code for a cleaner album appearance. If you were already using a custom template I think you can just specify that in the options instead of page.php.
The biggest ongoing problem seems to be with the album failing without a permalink refresh. Just update your permalinks and it should work again.
