We got some Earth Boxes on sale to use next year, but in the meantime we filled them up with kale for the caterpillars and some parsley for us.

I guess I should think of something to make with sage, maybe a roasted chicken or some pork chops?
The weeds are crowding out some of the herbs I planted, but not the catnip – not too surprising since it’s a member of the mint family.
Part of my ongoing effort to photo every plant in the yard. I love basil, but it’s not vary hardy compared to herbs like thyme and rosemary – a long weekend of 90 degrees with no water might kill it.
In other news, the K20D is still working – I can’t remember when it last froze. The freezing thing seems to happen more often when the battery is fully charged.
Thyme is one of my favorite herbs – I like that it’s milder than rosemary and sage, and the little leaves stick to meat. Luckily, it grows nicely in our yard, competing well against the hyper-aggressive mint that I should not have planted.
