We got a quick taste of Artomatic before going to a baseball game and had to go back the next day to check out the whole thing. The wide variety of art there was amazing – I’m sure we’ll be back this year.
Kitty prints
Penelope tried to go for a walk, but didn’t make it very far. She likes to go out to chew on grass, but there’s no telling when she’ll be able to find anything other than snow out there.
Pier sculpture
A funky sculpture on a pier in Baton Rouge, not far from the USS Kidd. The waterfront along the Mississippi was pretty and very quiet when we were there in January last year.
Pillars and sky at the Arboretum
An old photo, taken with my first digital camera, a Canon Powershot A40. These are the old Capitol Columns at the National Arboretum. We went on a night tour there a couple of years ago, pretty spooky and fun.
Photos of the Snowpocalypse
Our street still wasn’t plowed earlier today, but enough people had driven up and down it to pack the snow down pretty well. The Mini has very little ground clearance but made it the 1/2 block to the nearest plowed street and we were free! We just went out for groceries and gas, but it was sure nice to get out of the neighborhood for a little while. Even though the big roads have been plowed there’s a lot of slush and ice all over the place.
Not long ago a plow finally came by. I can’t tell whether it moved any snow, but maybe the salt/sand will get some melting done before the next snow storm starts tomorrow.
