The cherry blossoms are all gone now, but the rhododendrons are blooming like crazy at Brookside Gardens. There are even a few roses out in their excellent rose garden.

I can’t believe these chives are still alive – they’re pretty much surrounded by aggressive mint. Herb garden pro tip: plant your mint in a container unless you want a mint garden.

I brought the K20D all the way to Alaska and it only worked for a couple of photos. Back home in the backyard it’s totally reliable – so frustrating! All the little helicopter seeds on the red maple fell while we were gone, so there’s a nice layer of them all over the patio.
