I startled this hawk from the deck railing and it flew up into one of the trees in the backyard. Looks like maybe it’s a Sharp-shinned or Cooper’s Hawk.

Braved the elements to capture these over by the pond, across the slough. The slough and pond are frozen now, but I can’t tell how thick the ice is. Some cool ice crystals formed overnight, I guess the product of all the fog that’s been floating around. It sure looks like winter out there now!

Illy at the Vegas airport
Mandi sent me this shot of an Illy espresso kiosk at the Las Vegas airport. After all the bad Starbucks double espressos I’ve had in various airports, it’s nice to see there’s at least one airport with something else.
