Taken in Sterling, Alaska during an ill-advised winter trip back to Alaska in 2003, probably the trip where I vowed to never visit between October and March.

Honda Rebel
Meet my little motorcycle, parked somewhere in Rock Creek Park. The Rebel is a bit small for me – I end up sitting way back on the seat – but it gets great gas mileage and is very fun to ride.
Grapes near Beilstein
I took this above Beilstein along the Mosel River in Germany on our wedding road trip vacation from Lyon to Geilenkirchen.
WaMu Tower
This is a photo of the Washington Mutual Tower in Seattle from when I first got my Rebel XT and still had Canon’s bargain-priced 50/1.8 lens. It’s a nice lens, lightweight and very sharp. The big drawbacks for me were plastic construction, the loud AF motor, and the very loose-feeling manual focus ring. Still, I think it’s a far better choice for a first lens than the standard kit lens – it’s great for low-light photography and consistently makes nice portraits. Since I didn’t like or use the AF much I sold it and got a couple of old manual screw-mount 50mm lenses instead.
Halibut Face
This lovely photo of a halibut face was taken with a Canon Rebel G film camera – the one that Andre Agassi did ads like this for. I still have the camera but don’t use it much since a Spotmatic is way cooler and doesn’t use huge lithium batteries.
